Terribly happy at the casting crew over at E4/Channel 4;
Some of you will recognise him from 'This is England' & 'This is England 86' as the character Woody. Et voila;
Actor Joseph Gilgun has replaced Robert Sheehan in the tv series 'Misfits'.If you haven't seen it, the series is about a bunch of ASBO kids with super-powers. I find it pretty good, even better now with this tidy lad in it.
THE ACCENT!
I'd recommend both the 'This is England' franchise too, a really gritty documentary but brilliantly put together.
I'll update again soon with some purchases and outfits, I just had to express my excitement and joy (loser). Misfits is on E4 on Sundays at 10.00PM - I know I'll be watching!
Some imagery of the people, music and objects that have and continue to inspire me.
Music seems to be an ocurring element which inspires me, especially the ear of the 1960's. It's my fave decade to read about, not just music, but literature wise too. I'll have to do a book post one day and give some recommnedations, I'm currently loving John le Carre novels. Love a good vintage spy book me.

Mary-Kate Olsen. Everything this woman does and wears facsinates me, she always looks great and I've been obsessed with her style for a good few years. Whenever I'm feeling uninspired, I always go to her piccies that I have (saddo I know!) saved on my comp or on thefashionspot.com. (terrysdiary.com)
Again, mucho apologies for nae updates, ive been mucho busy and as soon as ive been getting into work ive been crashing out for the land of nod!
However, I am on holidays now yaaay! So expect at least one more update this week, ha!
Again, payday graced our bank accounts this weekend/friday. Naturally, I went shopping;
More boots! I am obsessed with boots. My Topshop ones that I bought last month actually need re-heeled already! I have worn them constantly since buying them, so I gather thats money well spent aye? These booties above are from Urban Outfitters; heres a link to them on their webby; clicky
Also from Urban, i purchased;
Pins & Needles spotted velvety blouse & a fabby hat! Here are links to them both on their website if ya wanna get a closer gander; blousey brown & a pal for your hair.
I actually need to start buying gloves and cosy jumpers, Urban does have a few really good ones, I suggest checking out your nearest one as they have some fab slouchy chunky ones and nice cable knits. I love the one I purchased last month, the dark red cable sweater & I'm tempted to get it in the navy too. Also I purchased a pair of Urban's famous cut off denim Levi shorts from their renewal range; re-made baby.
I popped into H&M too and was very impressed with what they had in their smaller one on Edinburgh's Princes St (we have 2, very rare for Edinburgh!). Lots of nice fairisle jumpers and tight jeans in every denim wash you could imagine. The only thing I was a bit miffed at was the fake dr martens...in neon green and pink! I picked up a apir of these denims, a bargain at £19.99;
Some folk may reel back in horror at the sight of these but I think theyre actually pretty fab. They look great both with brogues and boots. The sight of the neon fake dr martens reminded me that I STILL need to order mine. However, I am heading to Glasgow for (even more) shopping during the week, I am going to make a start on Christmas shopping. Every year I leave it 'til Christmas Eve and this year I am determined not to let it happen again!
First time ever...an outfit picture! Please excuse the state of the bedroom (not mine FYI!) in the background;
Currently my fave blouse at the moment, thought I'd post a close up piccie of the pattern, STARS! Got this from Zara a few weeks ago, sadly I had to exchange it the first time I wore it as the seam of the left arm completley split! Teamed with a trusty pair of converse and the renewal shorts mentioned above from Urban, I was set for a day of errands, woo!
A friend and myself went to see the film 'Midnight in Paris' a few weeks ago, its fabulous! I'd recommend it fully, its really funny and the setting and scenes are so wonderful. Reminds me of when I went to Paris wirth a few of my homies a few years ago. I'd love to go back, someone take me baaaack!
Just been browsing the Topshop website and would really like it if the Glasgow Topshop had this in stock for me! Wishful thinking!

My goodness its been a busy past few weeks. I've had barely any time to do nowt!!
Payday wonderfully graced itself into my bank account nearly two weeks ago and jeezo I took advantage...far too much.
Decided that I had been a good girl this month and worked very hard and treated myself to some goodies;
'Ambush' (Where do they get the names for their shoes? Someone please elaborate as I was told when I worked for Topshop a few years ago that they were named after members of STAFF?!) black suede ankle boots. At £75..I kinda winced but bought them none the less, I've worn them non stop! Right throught to this very day, so about 10 days in row? And I plan on wearing them alot more too. The studded ones from Schuh sold out (obviously) and I'm completley 'over' those now anyway HA.
Another cheeky Topshop buy. At £40, these are the coated 'Leigh' soft jeans. Usually I'm VERY picky with jeans as I love a good fit (who doesn't?!). But after trying these on in the fitting rooms, I knew I had to purchase these. They are the best jeans I have ever purchased and would highly recommend them. SO flattering and super tight, but not so tight that you can barely move. Anyone who reads this, please buy them, they really are money well spent. Together with the 'Ambush' boots, its a fab look (if I don't say so myself!).
Some more purchases, this time from Urban Oufitters;
I've had to cut and crop from their website as every model on there annoys the crap out of me. Anyway, first was the maroon Cooperative slub jumper with the Pins & Needles cream shirt. A staple I'm thinking for winter, its nice to wear under jumpers etc with the collar peeping out, something I'll be getting alot of wear out of, hooray!
Still needing to order my Dr Martens as it is meant to snow soon up here?! Quite excited at this possibility, hopefully the cities of the UK will be better prepared this time if we get epic snow.
Current inspiration these past few weeks has been the beautiful Freja;
Always has been, and always will be, my fave model, EVER. She's so beautiful and such a great dresser, she cna own a pretty damn long runway too, BOOM! One day..one day, I will have similar wavy/messy fringe locks like her, my hair is at that awful stage of growing out a horribly cut fringe/style, so it's back to the straighteners with mine. I've not used straighteners on my hair for nearly a year and it makes me a bit sad that I'm having to destroy my hair again with them ARGH.

Copied ma homegirl Kazza (http://lesswordsmoreclothes.blogspot.com/) with this post about laying posessions on the floor that you would save if your housey went up in flames. My photogrpahy skills are lacking so a bit is cut off from the bottom. It also did not help that the chair i used to gain height to take the picture was about to loose its 4th leg.
From the bottom; a pair of my smartest flat shoes which i wear with pretty much everything.
A pair of converse, my polaroid camera with photographs.
A pair of high-waisted dark navy shorts from Urban Outfitters (THE most flattering and best fitting shorts I have ever bought). My Mulberry bag and all its contents (including phone, purse and keys).
Gold/black maxi dress I purchased from a charity shop for £3. on top of the maxi is my day to day/memory book which i write shifts down, shopping lists, cut outs from magazines, scribbles and photos.
My most fave pair EVER of black tight skinny jeans - another purchase from Urban Outfitters, I've worn these so much that I desperatley need to buy another pair quick smart!
My rings mentioned in a previous post (on one of the legs on the jeans).
Benefit 'They're Real!' mascara.
YSL Touche Eclat.
Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation.
My oldest and fave breton stripe top.
Vintage leopard print coat from the Renewal Section at Urban Outfitters (see a pattern here?).
Record player & records.
Not alopt of sentimental things as you can see, mainly clothing! I do not have any precious items or special hand me downs from relatives. I am making my own sentimental posessions throughout my life I think. I do plan on keeping everything I own to hopefully then pass it on to someone else later in life. If i ever have children and its a girl, Id love to be able to give her (some) of these things. I love the thought of giving someone something you've loved for so many years. (Course I aint talking about the make up or anything! again, if i were to have a wee girl, id recommend this stuff to her haha).
tinker Tailor Soldier Spy came out on Friday (16th) but due to working late then being in again at 8AM the next mroning, a friend and myself went to go see it on the Saturday night. Of course it was great, some fantastic acting from Britains best actors, Tom Hardy was fabby. Sadly though I didn't finish the book before I seen the film so it did spoil it for me a little but I was not too bothered as the book has been such a good read so far and the film brought everything I have read for the past two weeks to life. I highly recommend both the book and the film. GO SEE IT!
Currenlt yobsessed with a band called Cults just now, their album gets played at my work and I'm hooked. Must buy my own copy when paid (only 9 more days till the blessed day!) Check them out;
Hooray!
Iits getting colder and that tiny bit darker in the mornings at 6am (awful time to ge up at!), which can only mean one thing...winter is almost here yayayayayay.
Alot of people seem to dread winter (fair enough last year in edinburgh we had AWFUL snow; see below)
HA!! Not my best look, oh well.
Anyway, i much prefer winter to summer, i love the dark mornings and evenings, i love the cold weather & getting wrapped up all cosy with layers, scarves, gloves, hats..the lot.
I am currently lusting after the below items for me winter wardrobe;
URGH I need this coat in my life! I am considering buying it with my next wage, however it is £187 from Full Circle (http://www.fullcircleuk.com/). I reckon it will be an investment and will wear it for years to come. Should REALLY think about spending so much money on a coat...but for now I can longingly gaze at it with love.
OK, so not practical for the snow (if we get it like the first picture posted) but I seen these in Office on Princes Street a few weeks ago and got very attached. However, I had just bought myself a brand new pair of Converse and coukd not afford both the Converse (at a shocking £39.99 - damn you Nike buying over Converse and the shooting up the prices of High-Tops!! Remeber when they were £28.00?!) and the ankle boots - at £95! Maybe next pay day too?! I know that these have been very popular and the website only had a few pairs left in size 3 or 5 so I doubt my nearest Office will have them in my size anymore. Still, theyre FAB i think, and i love a good ankle boot.
Now, a much more practical boot for the snow if it falls down on us again. I've been after a pir of Dr Martens for a good while now, but again, the price!! Dr Martens now retail at £80-£95. I used to have a pir in 4th year at high school (like above but the cherry red colour) and chucked them a few years later. I reckon these would look fab in some skin tight dark, dark grey skinny jeans with a golden lacey/vintagey jumper or top. I am currently scouring e-Bay for a chance at winning a pair on the cheap. (Well I better considering I might be buying a £187 coat and maybe £95 boots?! I must be crazy...or am I?!)
I'm sure there are heaps more that I want but I am currently loving al lthe winter accessories in Urban Outfitters right now. I currently work there and love getting a sneak peek first of the new things when being on a delivery shift. The beanie hats...the gloves and pretty much al ltheir winter scarves are FAB, i would like them all plz, thanks.
I suggest you give 'em a lil look; http://www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk/accessories/scarves/icat/glovesscarves/&layout=page&temp=productlist_full&itemsperpage=30
Again with the Lyyke Li, i love her heaps. I'm sure ive posted this song on a previous entry but i wanna post it again as i find it amazingly haunting and gorgeous;
At long last, the internet is back with me and i can now finally upload some pictures.
I've yet to take outfit pictures, pictures of new clothing etc but im still decididng whether or not to post outfit pictures.
I never seem to have the time to take a picture of outfits etc, i usually look like shit when i do take one, usually its because im late to work or not feeling 100% on the outfit chosen to take a picture of! Maybe when i have more time on my hands ill endure this outfit posting thing.
I prefer to take pictures of accessories, ive got a HUGE obsession with them, especially rings.
Here are my fave pieces;
Conpletely ignored the fact that the random hip hop flyer would get in the way of my jewellery. Oop.
From left; beaded silver cuff bracelet (which is a bit bashed and damaged after constant wear and being stuck to a de-tagger at work), large Peace pendant in 'silver', lkarge cross pendant also in silver, 2 X peace and cross bracelets, gold Casio mini watch and a couple of bog standard black and silver bracelets.
These peices are ones that I wear pretty much nearly every day. Usually not all at once however as my long pendants are equal lengths so I'll need to look into buying a few new chains for them.
And now...pretty much porn for me...RINGS!!
Again not all worn at the same time, I loved to mix metals aswell, I couldnt just stick to one tone! Although I'd have to say that my jewellery is 90% silver or meant to be silver anyway. I do like the odd gold(ish) ring flung in somewhere. From left (again); REAL (for once!) silver snake ring, silver skull ring, silver peace pendant, opal silver gem, blue topaz, giant silver funny shape ring (it covers almost my entire finger) and agold plated owl shaped ring.
Most of these have come from jewellery market stalls in Edinburgh that seem to pop up once every so often. They always seem to have amazing designs. I remember when i bought the snake one my friend got the fairy one ha!
My ultimate most fave ring that i own has to be the skull one. Bought in topshop sometime ages ago, i covered the thing in hairspray and clear nail polish to ensure it didnt go bronze like alot of jewellery you buy from high street stores. It had went a tiny bit bronze but the majority is still silver, I love it to pieces and its definatly one i wear every single day. I dont know what that attraction was to a skull ring but i remember when i bought it i was obsessed with finding one. Finally found it in Topshop, a week later it went into sale!
After much coffee this morning and afternoon I am feeling a tad bit wired and I am determined to finish the book I am reading at the moment. More so I wasnt to finish it before the film adaptation of it comes out on Friday 16th;
I recommend this book highly, its VERY exciting. The film adaptation looks great too, especially with such great actors; Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch (my latest obsession!) and Tom Hardy among others.
